Tree of Life Out on a Limb

A tottering collection of found objects wired tight to branches. A family tree. A representation of our precious, precarious lives.

Entangled in the limbs are various vignettes; a home sweet home heart with monopoly houses strapped to the branches, a jeweled flag above a soldier missing limbs, a small altar to Ganesh, a hula girl treating a humming bird to her nectar, a snake, a baby, a brick, a virgin, a whale, an egg, on and on climbing through the tree. The tree is strengthened and steadied by driftwood representing the ancestors, the past. The tree is a happy jumble of a shrine to diversity; dedicated to everything different being the same.
